Council is seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Casual Front of House Officer to join the Moonah Arts Centre.
This role is responsible for the delivery of front-of-house, hospitality, and event services at the Moonah Arts Centre. The position supports the successful operation of the Moonah Arts Centre by ensuring all events and activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high professional standard.
The Front of House Officer will play a key role in creating a welcoming environment for patrons, hirers, and visitors, while ensuring compliance with Council’s risk management, safety, and customer service standards.
Key responsibilities:
- Prepare the Arts Centre for public events and activities as directed.
- Deliver quality hospitality and customer service to maximise satisfaction for visitors and hirers.
- Provide accurate and up-to-date Arts Centre event information to members of the public.
- Maintain presentation standards across all public areas and event spaces.
- Act as the responsible officer and building warden during events, including after-hours events as required.
- Oversee the operation of the Arts Centre bar and hospitality services during events.
- Collaborate with the Creative Communities team to ensure the effective delivery of Arts Centre programs and events.
- Supervise volunteers, contractors, and other users to ensure safe and effective event operations.
- Contribute to a positive, team-based culture focused on community engagement and service excellence.
What you will bring:
- Proven experience in hospitality, customer service, or front-of-house management, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet customer expectations.
- Knowledge and experience in venue and event risk management.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Current certifications and licences, including:

- Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA)
- First Aid Certificate
- Current Driver’s Licence
- Working with Vulnerable Persons Check
